U.S. stock futures were ticking higher after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite again clinched record closes.

Futures on the S&P 500 were up 0.3% and futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.3%. Nasdaq-100 futures added 0.4%. Changes in equity futures don’t necessarily predict moves after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 added 0.1% in morning trade as gains in utilities and information technology sectors were balanced by losses in healthcare and energy sectors.

The U.K.’s FTSE 100 meandered after the flat line. Other stock indexes in Europe were mixed as Germany’s DAX rose 0.4%, whereas France’s CAC 40 was largely flat and the U.K.’s FTSE 250 was broadly flat.

The Swiss franc, the euro and the British pound strengthened 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.2% respectively against the U.S. dollar.
