David Mark Meets Gov Wike, Uche Secondus Over PDP Crisis

Former Senate President, David Mark, has commenced moves to resolve the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the parties national Congress.

It was gathered that the former Nigeria number three citizen on Wednesday met with Governor Nyesom Wike who is reportedly leading calls for the removal of the PDP national chairman, Uche Secondus.

David Mark alongside a committee he leads met with the Rivers governor in a closed-door meeting in Port Harcourt to address the lingering crisis rocking the PDP.

The Benue born politician will today hold another meeting in Abuja with the embattled PDP national chairman.

The source, who spoke in confidence told Vanguard that: “The Senator David Mark Committee has begun fence mending ahead of convention, had a closed-door meeting with Governor Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt on Wednesday (yesterday) and will meet with Prince Uche Secondus today in Abuja.

‘’The committee wants all litigations stopped and withdrawn. It plans a soft-landing for warring parties”

Recall that on Wednesday Secondus was suspended from his ward in Ikuru town, Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

His suspension was announced by the ward chairman of the party, George Christopher, during the extraordinary meeting at the party’s Secretariat at Ikuru town, Andoni.

According to Christopher, eleven out of the 17 executive members endorsed Secondus’ immediate suspension from the party.
