2023: Sanwo-Olu Supports Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has backed the National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the former Lagos governor has the quality to lead the nation and follow in the footsteps of President Buhari.

He made the remark at the official launch of a campaign group, Southwest Agenda for Asiwaju, SWAGA’23, held in Ikeja, Lagos.

In his address, governor Sanwo-Olu praised members of the group for their doggedness, action, vision and commitment to the cause.

“You can see that Lagos has kept the best for the last. With your Action, Passion and Vision the mission is achievable,” he said.

Naija News reports that SWAGA’23 is a campaign group championing the cause for the candidacy of Tinubu for the 2023 presidential poll.

The group had on Monday, commenced aggressive consultations with stakeholders and power-blocs in Lagos state for endorsement of Tinubu for President in 2023.

The group had also flooded Lagos metropolis with various Tinubu’s posters for the presidential contest.

Meanwhile, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has claimed that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) supports the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Speaking to PUNCH on Thursday, Igbokwe accused the outlawed group of starting its agitation after the PDP lost the 2015 election to the APC.

While lambasting IPOB, the governor’s aide stated that the pro-Biafra group is going about their agitation for the referendum in the wrong manner.

Backing his reason why he said IPOB supports PDP, Igbokwe pointed out that IPOB decided to start it’s agitations after Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election to Muhammadu Buhari.

According to him, the PDP remains the only political party currently campaigning in Anambra ahead of the November 6 governorship poll while other parties are allegedly being attacked.

Meanwhile, Joe Igbokwe called on Igbo people to drop secession agitation to be considered for serious national posts.
