2023: God Yet To Tell Me If I Should Go To The Senate Or Not After My Tenure As Governor – Ortom

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has declared that he’s not sure of what will be his next political step for the 2023 elections.

Ortom said the decision to contest for the Senate or not in 2023 is not in his hands.

According to the Governor, he is still consulting with God on whether to run for the Senate seat when he finishes his tenure as a governor or not.

He added while having a chat with journalists that whatever God tells him to do about the matter will determine his next move for 2023.

“I am still consulting with God because I do not take any decision without consulting my God. If he says yes, I will go ahead and contest, but if He says no, I will obey his decision,” he was quoted by NAN to have said.

On the state of affairs in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ortom reiterated that all is well within the party and members are working earnestly to ensure victory in 2023.

He called on members of the public to ignore rumours that PDP is polarized, adding that the party is set to take over from the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said: “PDP as a party made mistakes in the past and has learnt a lot of lessons from its mistakes and it is fully prepared to take over the leadership of the country from the APC.”

“Nobody should deceive you that PDP is polarised. We are working together as a party.

“We met and agreed that the positions which are currently in the north should go to the south, while those in the south should go to the north.

“This is the resolution of the zoning committee and it is graciously accepted at the national level.

“Nobody has begrudged the decision. It is widely accepted by all PDP members.”
